We are in the second half of the slow grow so let’s see what folks have added.
Sisters of Silence Starting out with my Sisters of Silence and I added some elite operatives to my force. The Raptora Cadre is a fun unit and whilst I’m not a fan of the retinue rule the rest of the rules make them good enough for me that I wanted to run them.

Slow Grow Month 2 & 3

Ok, so I may have been busy last month and unfortunately didn’t have time to write up an overview for February, so this article is a double. Months 2 & 3 each added 250 points so we are now totalling 1000 points as a soft cap though someone may have had a reason to completely smash that target.
Sisters of Silence Starting off with my sisters, I decided that trying to move a unit of toughness three, one wound models across the board without any shooting was a bad idea, so I painted a Kharaon Aquisitor painting this was very fun and the black armour is in stark contrast to the white of the rest of the force.

Slow Grow Month 1

So month 1 of the slow grow is complete and the early forces are looking good. Month 1 each player had up to 500 points to paint some players used all of these points others did a little less.
Sisters of Silence Starting off with my months work my plan was to make a solid base of the army. This began with some troops namely Prosecutors and Vigilators.
The Ruby Oncilla's The Sapphire Caracal's As you can see I went for a white armoured colour scheme with each squad having a different colour for the cloaks and other fabrics.

Prince reviews: The Sons of Horus

Right. About time we got to the Protaganists of the Heresy I suppose. What do mean they’re not? Their father’s name is literally in the title!
As with my last review, please don’t take this as gospel. I’ve been playing a few games with the 16th, but I’m certainly not the most competetive soul, as hopefully it may have been realised now, so this is just as much as judge of character as it is capability on the field.

A Princely Review of the III Legion

Its about time I actually reviewed a Legion. And there really was no contender for the first to the plate than the 3rd Legion. I’ve been with them since the very first Black Book… so lets see where they’re at now. For the purposes of the review I’m going to cover both the units in the Liber Hereticus book, and those covered in the Extended Army List, and Exemplary Battle PDFs - so we can have a full coverage of everything the Legion offers a player.

New Year's Plans - The Casual and the Damned Slow Grow

The New Year will be upon us soon (or at least for those of us using the Gregorian calendar it will) and as such, the usual New Years traditions come around again. One of these is the classic New Year’s Resolutions, which as wargamers we have turned into an excuse to start a new army. One of my resolutions is to post on this blog a little more, having taken a long hiatus.

The Night lords - An Optimists take

The Night lords. Raiders, murders, psychopaths, and Saturday morning cartoon villains. There is a lot to be said for the 8th legion and like most legions in 2.0 they have improved though in the case of everyone’s favourite Skeletor cosplayers you do need to look beyond their section to realise the improvements. So, lets dive into the lords of night.
A Talent for murder In the previous edition Night lords had several abilities that essentially meant they played like sneaky World eaters, needing to reach combat and outnumber their target to get access to what could have been considered the strongest legion trait once it became active let’s look at the new one.
